Speckled and Gray Trout These trout be caught on a variety of natural and artificial baits. Natural baits such as live mud minnows and peanut shad work well, though the best bait overall is live shrimp. Artificial hard baits such as Mirrolures for specks and most jigs for grays prove deadly on these fish, while soft baits such as grubs or Berkley Gulp! baits are also very effective.
